After Christmas, Levi stayed with Khaki and Q for a few days. He had such a fun time. He didn't really want to come home when we came to pick him up on that Thursday and left Friday (New Year's Eve).
Khaki was also very brave. On that Wednesday after Christmas, she decided she would try to potty train Levi - "just to see" was the way she put it.
Well, Levi had two accidents with her on that Wednesday. He might have had one accident on that Thursday when we got there, and since then he's only had one other accident. (I'm not counting naptimes or nighttimes in this count.) Most all of his naps, he'll wake up dry. Probably half of the mornings, he'll wake up dry. He still prefers pull-ups over real big boy underwear, but I'm not pushing that at this point. I'm willing to buy the pull-ups for a while longer, especially since he thinks of them as big boy underwear and does such a good job at keeping them dry. So far we're really impressed. And I tell Khaki all the time - and I'll say it again - thank you for pushing through that first day for us!! He really is doing an incredible job - knock on wood!! Last night, he even woke me up in the middle of the night to go tinkle. Pretty impressive for a two and a half year old - yep today is his official two and half year old day. Hard to believe he's growing up so fast.
Levi still has an incredible memory / imagination. Sometimes he'll tell me things, and I'm not sure if he's made up a story or if he's giving me his version of it. Tonight, for example, he told me that Khaki fell in a shower hole and couldn't get out. The story was actually much longer, but I wouldn't do it justice. I have no idea what he could be talking about - Khaki, any ideas?
He is an entertainer.
Levi loves to have his picture taken ("cheeseburger" is his version of "cheese"), and he is very concerned about others' feelings. At the end of this video, he's making sure that I'm happy.
Levi just loves to talk. He saw his feather hat that he made at school for Thanksgiving and had to show it to me again... and again...
Levi still does really well in school, and he really enjoys it. He comes back with stories to tell me all the time. Tonight, he told me that he fell out of the chair but didn't get hurt. He said Ms. Donna was there, so I know that event happened yesterday - or at least his version of it. I'm sure if I remembered to ask tomorrow, they'd have a funny story to tell.
Before bed each night, Levi and I read a couple of stories from the Veggie Tales Storybook Bible. Usually one while he sits in my lap and another once he's climbed into bed but before we say a prayer. He loves Gideon - Tuba Warrior and Where's God When I'm S-S-Scared? At the end of the "scared" story, Junior Asparagus's dad comes into Junior's room and then leaves with the following message: "Sounds like you're doing some good thinking. Now get some sleep. I love you, little mister." To which Junior responds: "I love YOU, big mister." Last night, I read the "scared" story, and Levi climbed in the bed. He wanted hugs and kissies, and then he said, "I love you, big mister!" I loved it so much, I couldn't correct him, and I promptly replied, "I love you, little mister"!! He did it again tonight, but when I replied with, "I love you little mister," he said, "No say about good thinking."
I am just so thankful for this precious, fun, talkative, bundle of energy.
