Yet another first for me in the past two and a half weeks - a blog. While this first is not nearly as exciting as the others that have recently happened in my life, it will be a fun diversion. The most exciting first is the entire reason for this blog - God has given me and Kevin the gift of our first son - Levi Preston. So, this and all subsequent entries will be to chronicle Levi's life, as best I can, for the reading pleasure of our family and friends.
Just a quick recap of Levi so far. He was born July 13 at 2:35 pm - after a short 2 hours and 35 minutes of Mama laboring in the hospital. His birthday is also the day my best friend from college, Jamie, had her first son, Elijah, just last year. So our boys are one year apart. Levi was 7 lbs 10 oz and 19 inches long. Kevin and I brought him home on July 15. Levi has made two car trips besides the trip home from the hospital. The first was to the doctor's office on July 18 (he weighed 6 lbs 15 oz, gaining 3 oz after our departure from the hospital). The next was riding with Daddy (Kevin) and Q (my dad) to Lowe's this past Saturday. I "requested" that he NOT go into Lowe's, so he just went along for the ride. Levi really does seem to like being in the car, though. Guess he is used to the noise seeing as how many hours he spent riding in cars while he was inside me.
The latest in Levi's little life is a mild case of diaper rash. He is such a good tempered and easy-going baby that he never really made fusses about being in either wet or poopy diapers. Kevin and I will have to be more proactive about changing him...
Kevin and I know that we have been incredibly blessed. Levi is precious, and (although perhaps a bit biased) we think he is the cutest baby we've ever seen. Kevin is taking some incredible photos. While my picture taking ability is not quite as perfected as Kevin's, I'm also having fun taking pictures of the gift God has given us.
"Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow." James 1:17

How sweet! And, oh my, how his little life has changed. I am so proud of him and him mom and dad. You have done an amazing job raising this special little man. And, now, he has two sisters, too. You are amazing!
