Fun Hike

We went for a hike at a nearby state park on Saturday. Levi decided to serenade us with his own rendition of the Veggie Tales song, "Where have all the staplers gone?"

A couple of shots from the afternoon.

A Story of Levi

Levi, Kara Jane, and I had the privilege of having my best friend from college and her precious family to our house for dinner on Wednesday. I love listening to and watching our kids together, and the two of us were able to have a sweet time of fellowship. (Thanks Daniel!) Levi was full of life that night - as he is most minutes of every day. Read my bff's perspective on her blog, Brown Paper and Strings.

Spring Break

Levi's Spring Break has actually been two weeks, because Daddy's Spring Break was last week and Levi's this week. Last week, we were all in Augusta. Mama had to work, so she was neglectful in the picture taking. This week, Mama took the week off. So, Levi, KJ, and I spent a few days with Khaki and Q - with a trip to visit Mama Rains, too.

This morning, Levi wanted to hold KJ. After grabbing the camera, I said: "Smile!" Both kids did on cue!

Then Daddy took the camera and snapped a few more of our cuties!

Yes, Kara is holding the remote control. She loves three things in this world so far: her big brother, anything that goes into her mouth, and anything that lights up when she pushes it.

First Time Bowling

Levi was invited to a bowling birthday party for a friend who lives down the street. Levi had never been bowling before, and I had never seen 3 / 4 year olds at a bowling alley. So, I wondered how it would go. Would he have to wear socks or would there be shoes his size? Would the bowling ball be too heavy? I did not need to worry.

They had bowling shoes just his size.

Here is his first roll of the bowling ball (a 7 pounder that he carried around very easily).

This is his second roll - can you tell he got 7 pins down on his first roll?

The majority of the kids at the party were right around Levi's age. After everyone had about two turns to "throw" the ball, most found other things to do besides bowl - except Levi, one girl his age, two older kids, and the adults. Levi didn't let the others running around distract him. Daddy helped him only once - to show him how to bowl without letting the ball make that horrible "dropped" sound.
He bowled very well for a 3.5 year old and had a very fun time.

Nine Months - KJ

KJ turned nine months old this past Saturday. Today, she had her nine month check-up. She weighed 19 pounds and 2 ounces (50th percentile). She was 28.75 inches long (90th percentile).

Kara is a delight. She still loves her big brother - loves to watch him and just be near him. Kara Jane does not have any teeth, and she is not crawling. She has been known to roll around to get things and is perfecting the longest reach I have ever seen. She likes to pull herself to a standing position, if she's pulling herself up using someone's fingers. Her special talent is showing her tongue. It's pretty cute. ;-) She loves peek-a-boo. She loves to have things in her mouth - particularly her thumb. She is precious. I am so thankful for this little girl.

Veggie Tales

We all went to "Veggie Tales Live! God Made You Special". I was pretty impressed with the costumes and how they had Bob, Larry, Junior, Mr. Lunt, and one of those gourds actually look like they were talking.

Levi was pretty excited.

Kara Jane thought it was okay.

Levi seemed to have a really fun time -especially since one of his favorite girls, "Baby Audrey", got to sit with him for part of the show. No pictures of her, though - she was too busy dancing.
