I love it when I ask Levi a question, and he seems to make all these noises until he finally finds the right word. Here's an example...
It is almost like you're getting a glimpse into his mind.
This video is Levi demonstrating the animal sounds that he knows now.
Also, happy birthday, Khaki and Uncle Johnny! We hope the day was great for each of you!!
I am delinquent on blogging that Levi has turned 19 months old.
I am delinquent on blogging that Kevin and I have celebrated our fifth anniversary.
I am delinquent on blogging that Levi has finally recovered from the stomach bug.
Sigh... I really have no idea where the time goes, but for some reason I have not given myself the time to post a blog recently. So, this post is going to be a little random, but I'll try to capture as much as I can in as few words as possible.
While Levi was so sick and we were in the North Georgia Mountains, Levi turned 19 months old. He is really becoming a talker. He seems to add at least one word a day. The weekend he turned 19 months old, one of his newest words was "cook". He saw the Olympics when Kevin and I were so sick and he was staying with his nana and papa, and he said "hockey" - which is the first sport for which he actually says the correct name. Another of his newer words, he says in this video that I took on Monday (2-22-2010).
This past Saturday, we went to a local reenactment. There were several things to see prior to the reenactment, campsites, stores, horses, and of course people. We didn't make it to the actual battle (didn't think a sleepy child and cannons would go together very well). This is a picture of Levi checking out the area (2-20-2010).
The weather here was beautiful on Sunday. After church, Levi and I watched Kevin play soccer - and played a little soccer ourselves. When we got home that afternoon, we went back outside for a while to play. We set up the t-ball set he got from his Q for Christmas. He did pretty well with it.
Kevin also gave him his first golf lesson with a golf club that is more his size. He did pretty well with it, too.
This story is older, but I just downloaded the picture and thought it was cute. After our trip Valentine's Day weekend to the mountains, I had to clean Levi's car seat. I ended up bringing it inside. Since I was still not feeling super strong before Levi got home when his nana got sick, the car seat was still inside. I really thought that Levi wouldn't want to see the car seat for a long time. He had other ideas (2-17).
Last Wednesday, Levi and I headed for Birmingham. I had a meeting there, and Levi was going to stay a couple of nights with Khaki and Q. This was a rather spur of the moment meeting, and so quick that I didn't even get to visit with one of my very dearest friends, Jamie, or her kids. So sorry Jamie, but after you read this whole post, you'll be thankful that we didn't get to see each other!!
Levi and I stopped at a Chick-fil-A. Audry met us there for a bit before we headed to a local Mexican restaurant to meet CC, Uncle Chris, Khaki, and Q.
Thursday began the big talks of snow for the southeast, but we were all planning to head to the North Georgia mountains for the trip we'd pitched in to get for my parents' Christmas present, come snow or hail! We were traveling from three different locations.
Friday came, the snow began to fall, and Levi got sick. When he got sick the first time, they didn't think it was a virus but something he ate or drank. Unfortunately for Khaki and Q, he was sick most of the trip from their home as they attempted to get to our "cabin in the mountains". Really sick. Audry also felt sick (but didn't succumb to it like Levi did), and we began to deduce that she and Levi had gotten "something" from CFA as Levi (and Audry) became worse during the trips.
Only CC and Chris made it to the cabin on Friday night. Levi, Khaki, and Q ended up in a hotel in Chatsworth; Kevin in a hotel in Commerce; Audry and I in a hotel at the bottom of the mountain where our cabin was. Sigh. And yes, Levi was still sick that night.
We all finally arrived at the cabin on Saturday. I was so glad to see Levi. Poor Khaki and Q looked exhausted, but they did such a good job taking care of our little man. From this picture, you wouldn't be able to tell that his stomach bug was still very active and had already been passed to two healthy adults and was on its way to five others! Yes, at least seven adults have received this bug over a course of five days!
Our trip was supposed to last until Monday, but with the threat of more snow - and the fear of the stomach bug that was to come for me and Kevin - we all left on Sunday. Khaki and I keep saying to one another, how can a weekend that sounds so horrible really have been fun?!?
Kevin and I did end up with the nasty stomach bug about the time we got home. We had to send Levi to his nana and papa's house. They and his great aunt ended up getting sick Tuesday / Wednesday. So, Kevin picked up Levi last night from their house. And Levi and I had the whole day together today. Again - how can being so sick be such fun?? We're also going to get to spend tomorrow together, as my in-laws continue to heal.
Say a prayer for all of us that we all (yep, ALL; none of us seem to have completely knocked it) get well soon.
The weekend before last, Levi decided that the name "Mama K" didn't fit my mom. He chose, "Khaki".
He also started saying, "CC", for his aunt Chery. He still hasn't quite managed "Q" for my dad or "Audry", yet. We'll keep trying.
After seeing these pictures, you probably won't believe me, but Levi really does know how to use a fork and spoon. He just isn't very efficient with either one; therefore, it is hard for this mama to keep him from using his hands to eat when he really likes what he's been given.
